The Group
The Computational Astrophysics group started in January 2021. We use various computational methods from hydrodynamics, radiative transfer, N-body simulations till machine learning to address astrophysical questions. Our research spans from planet- and moon-formation till black hole mergers through accretion disks at different scales.
We are funded by an external pageERC Starting Grant (PI: Prof. Szulagyi)call_made, by ETH Zurich, and by the external pageSwiss National Science Foundationcall_made. For high performance computing we use the external pageSwiss National Supercomputing Centrecall_made. We are Associated Members of external pageNCCR PlanetScall_made, where Prof. Szulagyi is the project leader of "The role of circumplanetary disks in planet-and moon-formation" in Domain 1 "Early stages of planet formation". We are member of the ETH AI Center and member of external pageComputational Science Zurichcall_made.
